What is counselling?
A counsellor provides a safe, supportive and confidential environment where you can come and discuss issues that are troubling you.
Together we will look at your problems, find out how you would like your life to be different, and I will support you as you work towards making these changes.
The initial assessment session is an opportunity for us to discuss what you would like to achieve by coming to counselling, and to determine the approach best suited to your needs, from a few solution-focussed sessions to more open-ended psychotherapeutic work.
Usually we would meet once a week for 50 minutes, agreeing together your goals and regularly reviewing progress towards these.
